The Port Jervis Community Development Agency (PJCDA) will be accepting applications for the Section 8 Housing Assistance Program beginning Monday, October 16, 2017 and ending at midnight, Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Beginning Monday, October 23, 2017
All applications MUST be completed and MAILED to the Port Jervis Community Development Agency, Section 8 Housing Program, P.O. Box 1002, Port Jervis, New York 12771 and post marked no later than MIDNIGHT October 23, 2017.
Effective October 24, 2017 the open application period and waitlist will be CLOSED.

The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from October 16, 2017 at 6:00 am, until October 29, 2017 at 5:00 pm PT. It was last open in October 2004.
To apply during the opening period, complete the online application here. Applications will be available online only.
The following documentation is required: Email address of the applicant; name, date of birth, address, phone number, annual income, and Social Security number or alien registration number of all members of the household.
Income limit information can be found here, under “Who can apply for the Section 8 Waiting List?” in the Basic Information section.
This waiting list has the following preferences: Live, work, or have been hired to work within the City of Los Angeles; and applicants who are veterans or have a household member who is a veteran of the US military, released from such military service under conditions other than dishonorable.
20,000 applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, after sorting preferences. By December 1, 2017, the HACLA will send applicants an email with their status on the waiting list.
After applying, applicants will receive a confirmation number. It is important to keep this number in a safe and easy to access place.

The Union City Housing Authority (UCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. This waiting list opened in June 2016, and is open indefinitely.
To apply, visit the UCHA office, located at 3922 Kennedy Blvd, Union City, NJ 07087, from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm; and 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm ET.
This waiting list has the following preference: Union City residents.
Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, after sorting preferences.
The Pennsauken Housing Authority (PHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is opening soon, from July 10, 2017 at 10:00 am, until July 14, 2017at 5:00 pm ET.
Pennsauken, NJ is about 10 miles east of Philadelphia, PA.

The following documentation is required when submitting the application: Name, date of birth, Social Security Number, and income information for all household members; and email of the applicant.
There are preferences, but the specific preferences have not yet been confirmed.

The State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) New Jersey State Rental Assistance Program is opening soon, from March 6, 2017 at 10:00 am, until March 10, 2017 at 5:00 pm ET.
Important note: This is a state-funded rental assistance program like section 8 but this can NOT be transferred even after living there for 12 months

The Town of Islip Housing Authority (TIHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open, from February 22, 2017, until March 24, 2017.
There are three ways to apply:
Once the application has been completed, it must be mailed to Town of Islip Housing Authority, PO Box 442, Oakdale, NY 11769. Applications must be postmarked between February 22, 2017 and March 24, 2017. Applications postmarked outside of these dates will not be accepted.
Please note: Preferences have not yet been confirmed, and it is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list. However, the most recently available TIHA Admin Plan (dated 2015) states that applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, after sorting preferences, and there are preferences for those who live, work, have been hired to work, or attend school in Islip; veterans; and working families. We have left a message with the TIHA for confirmation, and will update this page when more information becomes available.
